Valentine's Day card...finally!

Well, it has certainly been awhile since I have posted. Man, I have missed all of you...even know I haven't been posting myself I have been following all of you now and then. Fortunately, my phone allows me access to do that or I would not of had time for that either.

Thank you to all of you for the congratulations on my promotion. Even know it has kept me incredibly busy I am loving it!!

Anyways, after next week I am hoping to be a bit more consistent with my postings so stay tuned. I just had to be sure I got a Valentine's day card done. For those of you who don't know that is also my wedding anniversary!!

I really liked the way this card came out.

I used an embossing folder from Sizzix. I then brayered over it with silver ink to give it a bit of an aged/distressed look. Then I used the "Love Struck" Cricut cartridge to cut out the heart and heart background-I cut these at 3 1/2". I outlined the white heart in silver using my CriKits glitter set, it is somewhat hard to see. If any of you have used these and have a suggestion on how to make then darker PLEASE let me know. I did run it through twice but it still came out light. The red heart corners are just a cut out from a corner punch I used.

A Quick Note...

First, Happy New Year to all my wonderful followers and blogging friends. I know I have not been posting much lately but my new promotion at work has kept me very busy lately. This should all calm down in the next couple of weeks and I can get back to posting. Please just stay with me through this. I have lots of new ideas in store and I can not wait. A quick birthday card

I just thought I would share a quick birthday card I made recently. As I had said in one of my earlier posts, my theme lately has been quick and simple. I have just been so busy and on top of that lately I am putting in about 12 hours a day at work so the easier the better...but I am going to work on this. Maybe I will need to break a card down into a 2 evening task but I am going to try to do better.

For this I used the CB "Tiny Bubbles" for the scalloped oval I used Cricut "Storybook" cartridge and for the scallop oval I used the Fiskers shape cutter. The stamp is from Penny Black.

Another Christmas card

I think my theme for this year was simple. I also used a lot of Digi's. This card uses another free Digi from Stampfairy. I again used the CB embossing folder "Snowflakes" and for this one I also used one of the CB embossing borders. This one is from the set "Pop Culture".

I noticed when I posted this the little bear looks a whole lot darker than he was colored sorry about that.

Another Simple Christmas card

This is another simple Christmas card I made recently. I have loved the fun and whimsy ones I have created lately but it just seems like the simple ones turn out to be the more elegant ones. Does anyone else feel that way?
For this card I used the Christmas tree Sizzix embossing folder from Christmas set #7. I used my I-Rock (if I have not said it before I love this thing!) and clear gems stones. I attached the clear gems to the centers of the snowflakes on the tree.
So without further ado here it is...

I noticed the picture looks a little dark. For the paper I used a dark evergreen color and left the edges a bit distressed so give it a rustic (for lack of a better word) look.

I have to say I am very proud of myself because I have been doing very well posting about every other day lately. I am trying to get more constant with my posting.
Thanks to my followers who have stuck with me and my new followers (aka blogging buddies) too.
Your understanding and patience is appreciated~for me, my family life and work take a priority and since I work about 50-60 hours a week and there are only so many hours in the day unfortunately, sometimes I just don't have craft time- but I'm working on it :)

December Girl Christmas Card

I love this digital stamp I used for this card unfortunately, I can not remember where I got it or the artist. I want to say CDAC but I am not sure. Please let me know if you know the artist so they can get proper credit for their gorgeous work. To avoid this from happening to me again I developed a system that I ensure the artists name is in the stamp title when I save them. I want to give credit where credit is due to these talented folks.
Here is the card...it is another simple one but the Digi was just so cute I wanted to be sure she was the entire focal point.

Isn't she adorable with her lil gingerbread man doll?
For this I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder "Snowflakes", I colored her with my Bic Mark~its and although it is hard to see the I used flock on all the white areas of her outfit. Again, I can not recall the Digi artist so if you know who it is...please leave it in the comments section so they can get credit for their work.

Simple Birthday

I made this card for a friend's birthday. It's simple but I still like it.

For it I used: Quick Kutz Scalloped Rectangle die, MS Lace Doily border punch, the "enjoy" stamp is from Penny Black and the gemstones are from Imaginisce and I used my I-Rock to attach them. I do not have the manufacturer for the Rose stamp. I colored the Roses (pink, purple and leaves) with glitter pens and the yellow one with a Bic Mark It marker.

I had some questions from my Clean and Simple Christmas card post regarding "Sparkly Fluff". This was actually the first time I had ever used it. It has the same consistency as flock but has some glitter specks in it. I used it like and embossing powder and heated it. I am going to try using it as a flock too. It did not have any directions and actually when I purchased it I thought I had grabbed embossing powder but when I went to use it I saw it looked like flock so I just went for it and embossed it and it worked. The only difference was that instead of being raised like embossing powder it just melted and came out snowy and glittery just like I wanted. I hope this answered your questions. Candy Cane Christmas

Here's another Christmas card I made. I absolutely love this one!!

For it I used Glitter Stack paper in blue and embossed it with Cuttlebug Embossing folder in "Snowflakes", the candy canes were made with Cricut "Simply Charming" cartridge, the adorable bear digital stamp is from Stamp Fairy World--I love their digi's they are the cutest ever!! I colored the bear with Bic Mark-Its and his adorable snow bear with frosted aqua paints in white.

Clean and Simple Christmas Card

I am finally getting started on my Christmas cards. This is the first one I completed.

For this I used: Scor-Buddy to do the score lines along the trim, I-Rock and metal embellishments in the 4 corners, chalk inks in "Bark" and "Green Tea" for the Christmas tree, I do not have the maker of the tree or sentiment stamps but if I find it I will post it. I then stamped the tree again in VersaMark over the colored tree and added Sparkly Fluff by Our Craft Lounge in "Sugar".

Baby Shower Card

I recently attended a baby shower for a dear friend. she already knows she is expecting a boy so colors for this card were easy to choose. anyways, this is the card I made for her shower.

For it I used: Cricut "Simply Charmed" (for baby and stroller) and "Storybook" (for background panel) cartridges, Stickles, EK Success corner punch, my I-Rock and I-Rock blue metal and gemstones and for the stroller I ran the blue paper through my CB using D'vine Swirls embossing folder. The diaper pin embellishments I had just picked up at the Dollar Store and have had them for some time.

I think it's rather cute...I know she loved it...

Breast Cancer Awareness Corset Card

Since October is BC awareness moth I decided to make this corset card. I got the pattern for the corset at www.timeforcrafting.co.uk some time ago.

I hope you like this one.

For it I used the Corset pattern, ribbon, eyelets, I-Rock and I-Rock gems, awareness ribbon punch and stamps from See~D's "I'm a Survivor" and "Hope" sets.

Pumpkins

Here is the 3rd Halloween card I had made but I had not posted yet.

The background paper I ran through a paper crimper I have, the stamp is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps and the spiderweb and boo embossing folders are from Sizzix. I colored the pumpkins with Luminarte Aqua paints and Stickles and the Boo/witches hat using Luminarte Aqua paints.

Haunted House

Here is another card I made for Halloween.

The Haunted House embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. I colored the haunted house so it looked a bit distressed using a purple Prang Metallic Marker, I used Stickles on the moon and bats, and the mummy and grass were done with Luminarte paints.

It's been awhile...

It's been awhile since I posted but work has had me extremely busy, on top of that dealing with some personal issues and then this weekend the sinuses kicked in...blah!!
Anyway, I do have some Halloween cards done that I just have not posted so I am going to try to get this done asap.
This is the first one...

This one was super simple.
I used Ranger Alcohol inks to create the background, the ghost corner punch is from Martha Stewart and I cut the pumpkin face out using the "October 31st" Cricut cartridge.
The actual final card I added little bobble eye to it but I forgot to photograph it. I think it is a cute card but I just feel a bit more could have been done to it. Any suggestions, please share?

Little Angel

As promised...well barely, I am posting a card I made with my new Cricut "Rock Princess" cartridge. Love, love, love this cartridge. It is unbelievable how much stuff is on it and it has 2 fonts!! Super cute especially if you have a little lady in your life.
I made this for a friends daughter's first birthday...

Super Simple Masculine Card

I hope everyones week has been going fabulous! Work has been keeping he incredibly busy and has not left me a lot of me time. As I said the other day, I did make some cards on WCMD that I need to post so here is another one of those cards.
Now, for those of you who regularly follow me you know my style is pretty clean and simple.
I don't use a lot of embellishments...not saying I don't use them because I do, just not all the time. One of challenges I see posted all this time on the blogs I follow are those dog gone Masculine cards...men!! It just seems like this is one of those topics we all agree...we REALLY have to put some hard thought into...I am sure you can agree with that.
Anyways, my friend asked me to make a birthday card for her husband..."oh no, not a masculine card"...was the first thought that went through my head...I began thinking about it and I picked out my first paper and an embossing folder...I then added the base to the card and stared at it...
After some real contemplation believe it or not I decided to stop there...and she loved it "it was perfect for him" she told me.
So here it is my SUPER simple masculine card.

Here's the details...
DCWV glitter paper (it's gray so it really does look masculine)
Cuttlebug folder from the "Love is in the air" set
That's it! Like I said, it was super simple but I think the embossing folder did it all. What do you think? Let me know.

Good evening everyone.
Work has kept me busy for the last week so I had to catch up on my card making today.
This card was another quick and easy but fun Halloween card. I really liked the way it turned out.
Here she is:

For this card I used:

Sizzix embossing folders set called "Halloween" and I used the A2 spider web folder from the set
Cricut "Celebrate with Flourishes" cartridge to make the witch image and layering in the center-it may be a little hard to see but for the moon layer I used glitter paper to add sparkle.

There you have it Simple and Clean but Cute and Fun too.

Graveyard Scene

Yeah!! So far I am meeting my "goal" 2 posts in 2 days. Hopefully, I can keep up this pace and I hope you wont get bored with my Halloween cards...I will throw some non Halloween cards in too along the way.
Anyway~on to my card...This card is pretty much all direct to paper with the exception of a couple of elements I threw in.
I personally LOVE this card and am delighted at how it turned out...Here it is:

For this card I used:
*"Bat" embossing folder from Sizzix "Bat & Owl" set (it is very hard to see since the panel covers most of the card but no fear I will be using it again)
*Black, Green Tea and Charcoal inks
*MS punch for the fence (I just bought this and can not remember the actual name) and circle punch for the moon
*The witch stamp is from Hero Arts "Happy Halloween" set (has tons of Halloween Sentiments too)
* The foggy clouds were done by hand with a template I made
*The tree, grass, tombstones and bats all all from a set from The Craft Lounge called "On the Fence"
*I used my I-Rock and I-Rock Gems on the fence to give it a little bling

Quick Halloween Card

I went shopping at my favorite store Achievers yesterday and picked up some crafting goodies.
I decided that I have been idle long enough and need to get started on my card making again. So my goal is to try harder to make time no matter how worn out I am. Thanks to all my followers who have bared with me during my dry spell.
I started things off with a really quick and simple card I made with some of the items I picked up yesterday.
I am also waiting for some items I ordered by mail that were all pre-orders to come so I will have even more Halloween goodies to work with.
So without further ado here is my quickie card....

Now just so you know the purple in the background is my stamping mat not part of the card.
I totally love this embossing folder and I just happened to stumble across it yesterday and you all know how much I LOVE embossing folders!!! It comes in a set of 2 and I think I will use the other folder on my next card.
For this card I used:
DCWV "Neutrals" Textured Mat Stack paper- (purple/grey sheet)
QuicKutz "Nesting Rectangle" set (largest die)
Sizzix "Bat & Owl" embossing set (this comes in a set of 2 folders)
Sandpaper to distress Mr Owl
Charcoal chalk ink to distress the card edge and the die cut

Halloween stained glass card

I absolutely love Halloween, so while everyone else is thinking Christmas in July I am already seeking out Halloween fun stuff. I was out shopping and found some really great Halloween stamps. When I looked at one of the sets a certain stamp just said to me-stained glass.
I just made this really quick card to play around with my new stamps...

I like the card itself but I noticed I had missed some areas on the stained glass part..but I guess that gives it character...
Here is what I used for this card:
Inkadinkado "Creepy Lane" stamp set (love it!!)
Studio G Chalk inks in purple and green for the bats in the background
Cricut "Storybook" cartridge for the scrolled scalloped circles with "Cricut Colors" in purple around the green one (believe it or not I had never used my Cricut Colors before...I was a little nervous to do so but they are quite easy to use.)
Bic Mark Its and Vellum for the stained glass effect
For the embellishment-I had started off making a ribbon flower and went a totally different direction with it-let me know what you think of it.

Just for fun...just for me ;- )

I had recently won some blog candy from Sonia at Archiving Angel.
When I received my gift I was utterly excited at all the wonderful items I received. Now, for those of you who normally follow me I am strictly a card person. A couple of the things that were in my gift package were a beautiful black butterfly embellishment, a pack of Disney Princess paper and a beautiful die cut acetate letter "S". Naturally, I just had to use the "S" for myself. So I used some Pink Sherbet dauber paint from Adirondack on the letter "S", some black CS for a mat, my MS punch around the page Loop punch. I also broke out my I-Rock to use for the first time with some pink, clear and black rhinestones and this is what I created...

I was kind of proud of this...I think it came out rather nice and it is not a card. I am actually going to mount it and put it in a shadowbox frame.
Please let me know what you think. If I remember, I will post a picture after I frame it.
So~ now I am off to spend the weekend with my son who showed up at my house early this morning, unexpectedly from NC. He is on leave until Tuesday morning from the USMC so he has to leave Monday morning...it was a wonderful surprise!

I made this card for a friend/co-worker of mine. We recently had our State Fair and she had been talking about the hot air balloons and chasing them. I was crafty shopping yesterday and saw this stamp and immediately thought of her -so I just had to get it.

Here's the card:

For this I used: CB embossing folder "Divine Swirls", "Hot Air Balloon" stamp from Shabby Green Door, LuminArte' in "sky blue" for the balloon, Stickles "stardust" for the balloon flag and VersaColor ink in "bark" to stamp the balloon. I hand made the cloud background myself using a template I made and Color Arts pigment ink. The bark ink was very light after using the LuminArte' so I used a brown pen to redraw the lines and outline the basket. I really liked the detail in the basket so I left it alone.

Cupcake Card

It has been super hot here as of late and we are going to be having a a heat index in the triple digits most of the week. Needless to say,by the time I get home from work I don't want to do much of anything. I really wanted to make a card or two today and thankfully there were some fab challenges out there to motivate me.

Here it is:

For this card I used: black cs behind the purple cs, CB Embossing Plus folder "Chic Circle", cupcake stamp from Hero Arts Clings "Valentines Sayings ". I am not sure how well you can see it in the photo but I crimped a piece of acetate and covered the cupcake "liner" with it after I colored it to give it some accent.

I made this card for the following challenges:

•Crazy 4 Challenges C4C49 (use a cupcake)

•Glitterbabe's Challenge #6 (use the colors pink, black and purple)

•Other Lovelies 0023 (use acetate on your card)

CB Wedding Card

I just wanted to make a wedding card today. I had some new CB Embossing folders and a QuicKutz die I found on clearance earlier this year that I had not used yet. So I put together this simple but elegant wedding card.
Here it is:

For this card I used: a pre-made purple card base, White textured CS for the dress, purple glitter CS for the dress sash, CB Embossing folder "Scrollwork" and QuicKutz "Wedding Dress" cutting die.
The Wedding dress die actually has 2 types of dresses to choose from and the sash all in 1 die. LOVE IT!!
I added 3 purple rhinestones to the bow on the sash and stamped the "Happy Wedding" in purple using a stamp from the set titled "Wedding Set" from Inkadinkado.

Corner Bookmark

I am actually posting something that is not a card which is very different for me.

I got the tutorial for this from Splitcoast Stampers in the Resource section. If you have never checked out their site-you should. They have a new tutorial each week. I am addicted!!
This was my first try at this and embellishment wise it did not turn out the way I had envisioned it in my head, but I don't think it came out looking too bad. I am going to play around with it some more and get one just the way I want it. ; )
These would be great little gift for an avid reader and are REALLY easy to do.
Here it is:

I used the MS Doily border punch and a CB embossing folder for it. The heart is a plastic embellishment I just had and of course the watercolor flowers. I think the flowers are what ruined it for me since I did not like the way the coloring turned out on them, but that's what happens when you are in a hurry-which I was.
I used a flourish stamp and a white chalk ink pad to stamp it.
They really do make wonderful bookmarks and they don't slid around.

Big Thanks!!

I want to give a big thanks to Stef, Debb, Mary and Lisa for your help and suggestions with my blog issue.
I tried ALL of you suggestions with no success!!
Then a light bulb went off and I noticed part of my blog layout was gone too!! My blog had ribbons on the sides...I was so fixated on that darn Photobucket box that I did not even noticed.
So I just changed the whole blog layout. Guess what, no more Photobucket box!! I will just keep this layout for awhile until I feel safe to change again. I was using "The Cutest Blog on the Block" and that was apparently what the issue was. So I may have to seek out another layout provider but I will just stick with blogger for now.

A little help from my friends....

I was wondering if someone out there could help me. I checked my blog the other day and noticed a box on it that says "this image has been moved or deleted" Photobucket. I do not know what this is since I have not posted and I do not use Photobucket. I guess the other question would be are you seeing it too or is it just on my end? This box also moves up and down as you scroll up/down the page. I can not seem to get any info on how to remove this or what it is. Can any of my more experienced blogger friends help me out? If you can please e-mail me and let me know.

Finished Magical Marquee Card

So in my last post I had showed you the unfinished MMC. Honestly, I was at a loss for awhile as to what I was going to do with it from there.

I finally decided what I wanted to do with it.

As you can see I did make a minor change to the image inside the window from the unfinished card. Other than that it is the same card from the first post. The the larger flowers on the outside are actually a pearlized white but for some reason in the photo they appear yellowish.

I have a very Dear Friend who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Yesterday she underwent her surgery. So I made this card for her.
I spoke with her today and she is doing great.

Magical Marquee Card- Unfinished

I decided to make my first attempt at a Magical Marquee Card.
So far so good-considering my trial attempt completely flopped!!
Right now I am just showing you what I have done so far. The card still needs to be decorated and embellished, etc, etc...before it is complete but I was so proud I wanted to share what I did get done so far.

It was really a lot easier than I expected.

The first photo is the card shut...Yes, that is a acrylic block on top of it to keep it closed...

Get Well Slider Card

This is actually my very first try at a slider card. I really don't think it turned out too bad.

The thing I really like about this slider is that the "slide" is only on the front of the card.
The card base still opens up just like a regular card.

Here is the picture the the slider all closed up:

but pull the ribbon...

and it reveals the butterfly.
Kind of cute, huh? It may be hard to see because I took the photo while the Stickles were still wet but I filled the purple butterfly in with white and purple Stickles.
I used a MS border punch for the trim on the slider and the stamps are from various sets.

Another simple card-Mother's Day

This is the last of the cards I had not posted. I am hoping to try to get some others done soon. My PT has been killing me working on my arm since I started since they have to break up a lot of scar tissue before the real PT starts...oh fun!! I am hoping my husband will take me to Achiever's or something this weekend for my B-Day and I can get some motivational...I mean therapeutic tools...ha ha.

For this I used stamps from HOTP "Sweet Blossoms and Swirls" set and colored them with watercolor pencils.
The Sentiment stamp is from the Lil sentiment set that I do not have a manufacturer name for (I am going to try to hunt it down) and I cut the Scallop oval and oval with my Cricut using "Storybook" and attached a spotted white ribbon. Sweet but simple. Hope you enjoyed it.

Black and White with a hint of pink

This was just a fun and very quick birthday card I made for a friend.

For this I just used a plain white card base to start of with.
I used my Cricut to cut the black panel with the "Storybook" cartridge. If you have a Cricut and don't have this cartridge I highly suggest it. I really has a lot of fun shapes, flourishes and other great items.
After I cut out the panel I ran it through my Cuttlebug (my other love) using an embossing folder from Sizzix from the "Floral Flourishes and Vines Set". I then attached the ribbon and panel to the card base and added a pink flower embellishment with a pink rhinestone center to finish it off.
The 'Happy Birthday" stamp is from a huge set of sentiment stamps I had ordered about 3 years ago but I do not know the manufacturer.
As I said a quick and simple card but I think it turned out rather nicely.

Paper Pieced Puppy Card

I made this cute lil' paper pieced puppy card for a child's birthday.

Sadly~for the life of me I can not give you any info on the paper I used or anything...I simply don't remember.
I think it did turn out pretty well. I just wanted to share it with you.
Right now I am just catching up on posting cards I made while I was away.
Hopefully, I will be able to start making some new cards soon. I have an arm injury to my dominate hand which is making crafting difficult. I have started PT and hopefully I can possibly manage some new stuff this weekend.

Princess Card

I made this card for a littles girl's birthday.

I had purchased the "Once Upon a Princess" Cricut cartridge and this was the perfect occasion to use it.

I just loved the way it turned out. The picture really does not do it justice.

For this card I used:

Once Upon a Princess Cricut cartridge to make the princess
Pink (Cotton Candy) Stickles to outline her dress and Tiara
For the border I used a Martha Stewart border punch-although I don't know the name but I love the hearts
For the castle and sentiment "I'm the Princess" I combined purple and pink inks and the stamps are from Hampton Arts.
I added a couple of gems to the castle to give it a little glam

White Flock Card

Wow 2 posts in one day that is very unusual for me...

I had made this card for a friend's anniversary. I knew exactly what embossing folder I wanted to use for it and that I wanted to flock the heart. My latest thing lately has been embossing folders.
I have a birthday coming up on the 19th and I gave my husband a wish list full of them. There are so many to choose from now a days.
Anyways- I decided to go with the simple elegant white with the red flock and trim and then added the sentiment in black to make it POP. I did add some gems to the crown for some bling.
All and all I was pretty pleased with it and so were they.
I used a white panel over a white card and ran red ink along the edges of the panel.
The embossing folder I used here is from Sizzix "Crown Flourish and Heart Wing set".

Better late than never

I had made this card for Easter (hence the blog title) but I had really wanted to share it..
I really thought it was quite cute and I got to try out some new "toys" in the process (and we know how much us crafters' love to do that!).
For this I used: patterned paper, Studio G Bunny stamp, Melody Ross Dies, chipboard frame and hammer, LuminArte to color the bunny and Adirondack acrylic paint dauber to paint the chipboard from.
I really love this new Melody Ross stuff...fun, fun...

I'm Back with a Quilled Card

I am so excited to be able to do postings again.
It has been a whirlwind for me lately and things have been chaotic.
As I said the other day I have mad a few cards while I was away and will post some ASAP. I am going to post one that I made for a co-workers daughter's birthday...(speaking of birthdays mine is creeping up quickly-eek!!). Anyways ~ all they really told me about her was that she loved purple. Now I had promised in one of my past posts that I would do some quilling. I did do quilling for this card and tried a little starburst technique I had seen somewhere.
So here it is...

I think it was kind of a fun card. Simple but nice. Let me know what you think.
I am going to try to get some other quilling done and some Iris folding too.

3D flower Card

I decided to try something a little different than my usual card making style.
I am not sure if I really even have a style since I just get an idea and run with it-wherever my little Gemini mind takes me that what my finished product is. I guess if I would have to say my regular style would be more fun and whimsy.

Today I decided to go outside that box today and make this 3D flower card.
It is hard to see the 3D layering in the photo.
I did have fun making this so I think I am going to try to make myself create something "outside the box" every now and then.

Easter Card

I know it is a little early but I made this card for Thoughtful Thursdays 0010 challenge.

Here is the challenge: to use something (paper, ribbon, embellishments - anything that you've been holding onto 'just because'). It can be on a card, scrapbook page, or any altered project!
This one is for all us crafting "hoarders" out there.
I am guilty of this...I will buy something that I absolutely love and then hold on to it forever...
A few of my guilts are: Ribbons, embellishments. templates and occasionally embossing powder.
So I incorporated all of these into this card.
The Easter egg template, the 2 pink colored embossing powders-I love the hot pink one yet had never used it, ribbon scrunched across the card and pearl embellishments. The stamps are from See D's "Bunnies and Chicks" set. The See D's/Sugarloaf lines are now owned by Darcie.

I actually photographed 2 versions of this card: one with a flower ribbon attached to it and one without the flower ribbon. I wasn't too fond of the way the flower ribbon looked on the card.

Thoughtful Thursdays-RAK

This is a card I made for a friends daughter that just started ballet. They definitely wont be expecting it so it falls under the Thoughtful Thursdays 0009 challenge for this week. Which is create a card that is a RAK and must be mailed off and not kept in your stash.

For this card I used:

Cricut "Storybook" Cartridge for both cut outs
White glitter for the trim and diamond glaze and diamond dust over the ballet slipper stamp
The ballet slipper stamp is from Studio G-kids stamp line
The "princess" stamp is from TAC "Yield to the Princess" set

Please forgive me...I just noticed I took the photo before running the adhesive eraser over it...ooops!

I just wanted to share something that I thought was a very sweet gesture.
As some of you know Valentine's Day also happens to be my wedding anniversary.
So I wanted to share a card that my DH made for me...yes~I did say MADE....apparently he decided to play with my Cricut while I slept. Bless his heart!!

Digi Card

This is one of those "oh my gosh" cards for me.
Everything I wanted to do- just did not work.
Truth be told, I just have not had much time for card making this last week, but I wanted to be sure to get something done for Suzanne's Thoughtful Thursdays 0008 challenge.
This weeks challenge was to use a digi stamp.

This little guys is super cute and I just has to use him- I know Valentines day is over so this will be the last one, I promise. I got him from Digital Delights by Looby Loo ( I think I spelled it right?)

I just colored him added some glitter to his heart arrow, framed him in red and today I had found this awesome tutorial for a paper rose and decided to use it too.
I initially was going to go in a totally different direction with the framing and try a new technique but just did not have time so I will have save that for the next card.

Conversation Hearts

Here's another card I mad for Thoughtful Thursday -0007.
The challenge was to use your interpretation of "sweet". I am still in valentine mode so I immediately thought of those little boxes of conversation hearts (CH). I tried to make the outside of the card look like a CH box and did a slider for the inside. I know we are our worst critics but this is not one of my best cards and I definitely feel there is something missing here. Any suggestions?...please be kind. :)

Iris Folded Valentine

I decided to not go with the usual stamping today and made an IF card instead. I like to IF and quill every now and then but sometimes I just don't have the patience for it.

I was feeling pretty grounded today an decided to go for it.

Another Valentine Card

I made this card for The Thoughtful Thursday Challenge 0006.

This week's challenge was again focusing on Valentine's (boy, will my husband be getting a lot of these)-this weeks challenge was to have green somewhere on the card and it had to have a heart on it too. I opted not to go with a traditional card again. So I decided to get out my Cricut cartridges to make a card. I had finally decided on what I wanted to do until my DH decided to go looking through the book and sent me down a whole different path....so I went with his suggestion. Actually, If you knew my husband you would know if I had not done it, he would have drove me nuts until I did. Gotta love him.

I used the Cricut "Sweethearts" Cartridge to make the card and I glittered the little heart the monkey is giving away.

Personally, I was really unsatisfied with the "I'm bananas 4 you" when I cut it out. It was very hard to read.

I outlined the first one in gold and it look really good but still didn't stand out so I went with outlining in brown but I honestly am still not happy with it.

Quick Valentine Card

First, thank you to all of you who left such kind words on "My Little Diana" post. Your kind words meant so much!!

I made this card for Suzanne's Thoughtful Thursdays challenge. The challenge was to make a valentine card using stickers. Naturally~ I did not have any valentine stickers but found on clearance at the store.

For this card I used: "Sticko" vellum stickers from EK success. MS doily lace punch and light yellow, blue and purple inks to coordinate with the stickers I was using and sponged the ink onto the card before placing the stickers. Not to bad for a quick card.

I have been very busy but wanted to be sure to get Suzanne's weekly challenge in. It helps motivate me...thanks Suz!!

My little Diana

OK~so I have to say- it honestly has taken me awhile to get back into the groove of things.

The first week in January I lost my beloved baby, Diana.

She was not ill and was full of life the day before but we unexpected lost her while we slept.

The vet that we had her cremate her was so wonderful and they even sent us a sympathy card. Naturally, I had to give him a thank you card for all they did for us.

Here it is:

The quote inside is very hard to see but it reads "No animal I know can consistently be more of a friend and companion than dog."

I'm back with a Valentine

I love Valentine's day-I always have but since it is my wedding anniversary too it makes it all the better.

First off, please excuse my long absence...I have had tons of personal things going on and then to start off the new year I lost another beloved dog (see tomorrows post).

I made this valentine for Suzanne's Thursday challenge.

I used my Cricut "Mothers Day" cartridge for the background and "Love Struck" cartridge

for the heart ans shadow. I love these cartridges and they are very detailed...it is amazing.

Birthday Card

I made this card for my husband's birthday which was this past weekend.

I had just bought this hero Arts stamp and was dying to used it.

The stamp is "Heart Frame" from Hero Arts and I colored each heart on the front with red and pink glitter pens and threw in a few gold ones to give it some sparkle.

I then stamped "Happy Birthday in the middle of the frame in gold to go along with the gold hearts and took some gold rhinestones and inserted them in the holes in the bottom where I had used the border punch.

He said he really liked it.

This weeks challenge was NO STAMPING!! So I decided to do an Iris Fold (IF) card. I made a baby congrats card for a friend of mine. It had been a while since I had done any IF so I thought it might be fun plus I think in the past I had said I was going to do some IF and quilling on my blog but shame Ion me I haven't.

I used the following for this IF/no stamping card:

Splish Splash Challenge card

I made this card for Suzanne's first challenge on her Other Lovelies blog. Her first challenge was a sketch challenge. It needed to be an A2 card, with embellishments and the sentiment needed to be framed.

Now, I have a real hard time with challenges because let's face it, I am a Gemini and I just have my own way of doing things.

Since this was her first challenge and she was just starting out I figured I would give it a try.

It is "Fall" (yeah that's what they say) here in Indy and it is rather cold. Being a native Californian I decided I would go with a warm on the beach kind of card.

I, myself, am not overly pleased with it but we all know we are our worst critics...right?

Easel Card

I have seen these Easel Cards many times and always wanted to try to make one.

I know- I have said that before but this time I really did it!!

Afterwards, I was absolutely amazed at how really simple they are to do.

I did not make this card for anything in particular I just wanted to make one so there is no real theme involved.

Items I used:

Stamps: "Tree" is from Recollections- which I believe is a Michael's brand

"I love you" from Studio G (Yes I love those 1.00 Michael's stamps

Punches: Picket fence (I just had to use this to go with the tree)-Martha Stewart

Loop around the page-Martha Stewart- these are too neat if you have not

seen them or used them. It is a set-a corner punch and a border punch that work

together to go all the way around your paper. They take some work to get used to but

are well worth it.

I made this simple birthday card for a young just turned teen girl. I was told by the giver that she loved it and was so happy she got a card that was not babyish. That age is so hard to please (lol) so I am really glad she was happy with it.

Irish Welcome Card

This was definitely one of the more difficult cards I had been asked to make for someone.
It was not difficult to put together once I knew where I was going with it-it was all the elements that had to be incorporated into it. Ir is actually a simple card but it is the elements that are important.

This is a "Traditional Irish Welcome card" (I was told-being Italian I just had to go with the info given)
Here is what I specifically told had to be incorporate into this card.

The front of the card had bear the Irish clan signs-Hawk (Symbolizes Independence and sign of the house of O' Seaghdh) and an anchor (symbolizes hope and id the sign of the House of O'Watters)
It had to have white lace on it to honor the O'Seaghdh
There must be musical notes on it to honor the O'Watters
The card of course had to be green
The inside must say "Cead mile failte" (see Below)'

I was told this would be a keepsake card-A "galen faile" (the card at which she receives her Irish Heritage)

Of course, I felt very honored to make such a card. It was just a very interesting request I wanted to share with you.

Pumpkin Halloween Card

I made this card the other day. I just really needed to get to making some Halloween cards...I just love them!! It is really hard to see in the picture but this is a very glittery card. I colored the pumpkins and then added glitter accents (green, gold and black).

Supplies I used: Border punch by Martha Stewart (I believe it's called Dippity goo). It may be hard to see but on the purple panel I used a Cuttlebug Embossing border that looks just like the Dippty Goo border, I used a green and gold glitter pen and black Stickles, The stamp is by Northwoods Rubber Stamps (the stamp actually has 5 pumpkins on it but I did not have room)

Congrats Card

I made this card for a friend of mine to congratulate her on the arrival of her new baby girl.

The card is done in the nursery colors.

The little lady has not arrived yet so I have not given her the card yet. I am safe for now through...the due date is tomorrow so I don't think she will be reading any blogs... :)

Pop Up Card~ Variation

Sorry for my long absence but I once once again ill and not able to do much. This time it literally put me down for about a week. I wont go into to all the details but it gave my DH, my son and me quite the scare. Have you ever been yelled at by a Marine? Well, I have! Don't get me wrong it was all done out of love...it was along the lines of "I don't want to come home because I HAVE to I want to come home because I WANT to". It was really kind of sweet...anyways you can e-mail me if you want details...I know I keep in close touch with a few of you (you know who you are) my g-mail addy is on my profile page or some of you have my personal. Yes~ I am doing better now-not 100% but better. Well enough of that!

A friend of mine asked me to make a card for her sisters birthday. She specifically told me she wanted it in Fall colors. While I was looking through my papers for some "Fall" colors I found this great fall like paper with a wonderful pattern. So I decided to use it. I was amazed when I realized that everything I needed I already had on hand and it was all the perfect colors.
The picture above is the front of the card with the pop up closed.

This is the card with the pop up pulled open:

I really liked the way it turned out. The variation on it is that instead of the pop up being the card itself I attached the pop up to the front of a card base. It was easy. I think I will do a few of these every now and then just for a different look. What do you think??

Simple Christmas Card

OK so I have been off again with my postings. More medical tests have slowed me down. Hopefully after Monday I will be back on track. Anyways, enough about me...

This card I made was so quick and simple yet I think it came out so pretty!!

I just embossed the hunter green paper and added glitter to the holly berries.

It was just that easy, but I really like the final result.

Brayer Christmas

Now, I will be the first to admit no matter how hard I try...I just can not get working with a brayer right. I see some very talented people who can do the most amazing things with a brayer, I can follow their directions to a tee and still not get my work to be even remotely close to theirs.

It is obviously a lot harder than it looks...so my props to those talented people.

This is a card I made using the brayer for the sky.

I masked off the bottom of the white card to give the appearance if snow and the stamped the tree in black along with the sentiment.

I think it turned out pretty good, but I honestly did not get the sky exactly the way I wanted it but it did come out looking like a winter sky -so I was happy. Let me know what you think and leave any brayer tips you might have for myself and others who might be interested.

Christmas Card-Funky Christmas tree

I call this my Funky Christmas tree because of the cute little funk tree on it.
Here is the card. It is a regular A2 card.
I just cut a half circle on top to give the card an unusual shape.

This is a close up of the "funky" Christmas tree. I used Black detail EB powder on it and then colored it with markers that matched the colors in the pattered paper I used. I use gold EB powder for the star and attached it to the top of the tree.
The stamp for the tree and star are by Inque Boutique (Darcie now).
The "Season's Greetings" is actually from a set I won so I do not know where it came from.

Cupcake Card

Happy Labor day weekend everyone!!

I know- I said I would be posting some Christmas cards and I will, but I had made a shape card and wanted to post it first.
Now you have to forgive me because I CASEd the idea from another blog but it was so long ago that for the life of me I can't think of who's it was.
So please pardon the lack of credit given...if I remember I will let you know.

I made this for a friends birthday and I just love it.

Supplies I used:

Crimper to make the cupcake cup
Cuttlebug and "Divine Swirls" embossing folder
I used "Diamond Glaze" on the cherry to make it shine and pop
I rubbed "Perfect Pearls" on the "icing" to give it a shimmer
I also added a bit of 'Diamond Dust" to the cherry

Well there you have it. The card actually opens from the bottom and is a regular A2 size card when completed-no envelope assembly required~Yeah!! The only difference is the shape.

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been for awhile-work has been very hectic and I have not been so great health wise but I think I am back on track. I made several cards while I was gone. Believe it or not several of they were Christmas cards...yes, I said Christmas. I will be posting these starting tomorrow.

ATC Tag

I was catching up on my blog reading after a brief computer melt down and was reading Suzanne's blog-who also happens to be my sister in law (sorry Suz-I let the cat out of the bag). In it she gave this challenge: "try making a card with only a stamped image and sentiment. Post a link back here to show everyone."

I was very busy yesterday so I made an ATC tag instead of a card. That way I can use it for a witchy Halloween gift or something.

For it I used the "Best Witches" stamp from Stampin up and water color pencils.

I am starting to work on some Christmas cards...yes I said Christmas and will hopefully be posting them in the next few days. Then I will get back into the Halloween spirit again. Who knows...I always change gears. Yesterday I was supposed to be doing Christmas cards and invites and instead I worked on challenge cards. So I guess we will just have to see where I go...It is not easy being a Gemini!!

Another Halloween Card

Do you ever sit down to make a card...you know the perfect stamp you want to used but just don't know where you want to go with it??

That is what happened when I was doing this card.
I just KNEW I wanted to used this witch stamp!!

So the first thing I did was make a circle mask and made the moon and then stamped THAT witch. I really liked it...then I look down at this-what seemed HUGE white empty space below and thought..."what have I done"..."I have no clue what to put there"...you know...those thoughts that start racing through your head....

Then I recalled a couple of woods stamps I had...the tombstone and sign.
I still had thoughts racing....panic was setting in....
I grabbed for a piece of green paper...."I'll make some grass"....then I saw it...the good Ole Mulberry paper!! Got to love it...instant texture and grass!! LOL

So I made a little hill and a stake for my sign...put it all together and there you have it...hope you like it. I guess I could have titled this
the good old "panic card"

Items I used:
Mulberry paper (which was conveniently already tore)
Inkadinkado "all Hallows Eve" set
Woods stamps: Hampton Art (Studio G) Haunted House Sign and RIP headstone
I used some silver ink and my "Marble Texture Cube" from Stampendous and stamped over the tombstone to give it a texture look.

Simple Halloween/Fall Card

This was a simple Halloween/Fall card I made. It is very hard to see in the picture but the pumpkins are glittered and there is a faint Maple leaf stamped around the edge of the card.

Items I used:

Glitter 3 pack comes in orange, black and white that I purchased at Michael's for 1.00

Inkadinkado set "All Hallows Eve"

Sugarloaf's "Leaves" set

I used Whisper markers to color it

I love Halloween!!

Ok, so it seems a little early for Halloween but if we can do Christmas in July...which I personally can't(sorry I can't think Christmas when it is 90 degrees and humid outside)- then why not Halloween on August??

I love this sweet little witch stamp from "Crafty Secrets"...isn't she cute? The picture did not come out too well, which I believe may have to do with the detail embossing powder I used...I'm not sure.

Items (stamps used) for this card:

Crafty secrets- Halloween Fun

HOTP- Stamped Stitches (yes they're stamped)

I used a clear ribbon stamp set I got from Oriental Trading but I do not have the name

Detail embossing powder for the outline of the witch

I used Whispers markers to color the lil witch.

I tried to make the lace on the side splotchy to make it look a bit antique like.

Fun in the Sun and a blog award

I made this card today. It was some very tedious work but I think it was well worth it. It will be pretty obvious from looking at the pictures that this is not a mailable card. I took 3 different pics to show you the detail and dimension of this card. The largest of the pictures is of the card itself, the other is a close up of the Hibiscus flower on the card and the third shows you the dimension of the Hibiscus. Now I must give credit where it is due. I got the flower pattern from Valita and I thank her for sharing it on her blog. It is a warm humid day here in Indy so I wanted to make something refreshing.

Items I used for this card are:

"Sailing away" stamp is from Rubber Stampede (boat)

Fun in the Sun and Seagull stamps are from the "Coastal" set from Inkadinkado

Hibiscus pattern by Valita Reynolds

Inks were "Rose Red" and "Orange" from VersaColor

Red Crayola Pencil

"Whispers" markers Red and Orange from Sugarloaf (Darcie)

CB Embossing folder "Floral Screen"

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #18

This is my first try at the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.

They give you a picture which involves cupcakes which you use for your crafting inspiration.

I made this card as my take on the cupcake photo (both shown above). It was kind of fun to do this challenge. We'll see what happens.

It seems like I am in a rut of keeping things simple as of late as this is a fairly simple card although I love the little bobbly eyes I added.

I used Sizzix (Wedding set #2) and Cuttlebug embossing folders (Swiss Dots), flowered ribbon, bobble eyes and the is owl stamp from Hampton Art

Another simple card

I love the monochromatic look of this card. There is just something about the colors I love.

I used the following to create it:
"Follow your heart" stamp from Studio G
Stitching border template from Bazzill
Frame was made using the Cricut "Storybook" Cartridge

I really wanted to try stitching for a change. I am going to try to get back into using quilling and Iris folding on my cards.
I am going to try my hand at and I do stress TRY...doing some crossstitching on my cards. We'll see what happens.

Something Simple

Just a simple card I made for my DH. It was not for any occasion or anything. Just one of those spur of the moment things. I was unexpected which made it even more fun.

It also gave me an excuse to play with my Martha swewart "Doily Lace" punch. I love this thing. I could not find it for the longest time and my hubby bought it for me as on of my b-day gifts. Like I said this was a fairly easy card to make;

The items I used were: Printed card blank-I got these from my crafting book club

"I love you" sticker with white cardstock mat

Matching ribbon

That's it!! Told you it was simple

In memory of my beloved pet and a Thank you card

Well, the kids have now gone back to NC until Christmas and now the house seems empty again.

We recently lost a VERY beloved family member and honestly it has really taken a real toll on me. My beloved dog, Prince passed away in early June.
Now you have to understand, as any dog lover would, my dogs are like my children and he had been a part of our lives for a very long time.

We got him as a puppy when my son was only 6 years old and he is now 22 years old.

Even in his final days he was the most faithful dog you would ever know. If I left the room he was right there with me, always right by my side!! He will be greatly missed.

My neighbor was kind enough to make us a memorial for him so I made him this thank you card for doing it. This is actually what you would say "proto type" of the actually card because I don't really like how the inches came out. The enamel coating is too thick in some areas but you get the idea. The verse is what I stamped inside and then I will be hand writing the thank you part.

Anniversary/Congrats Card

I have some friends that are getting ready to celebrate their second wedding anniversary and expecting their first child too.
I made this card for them as a celebration of both. The color choices were picked out by the young lady's mother. I probably would have chosen another color scheme but she asked me to used the colors of yellow, pink and green. There are two pictures-the first is the inside and the second is the fron of the card.

Finally/Bikini Card

Finally my Internet is up an running again so I can now post.

While I was away I made a few cards and bought some more card making stuff with my birthday money!!

I love this card and it is just the darn cutest thing...now I usually don't toot my own horn but I am on this one. Mainly because: 1. it is so cute and 2. I got the pattern from my friend Lisa. She always makes these and they are so cute. She had sent me the pattern and I finally decided to make one myself. Now how cute is this?

The picture is the same card...one shot is the front the other the back. What do you think? Hope over to Lisa's blog and tell her how cute they are too.

Welcome Home

Hi everyone...sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I have been busy with family matters and preparing for my sons return from Afghanistan. I can happily say he returned to the "states" on Monday and will be home visiting right around my birthday. I am so excited!!
I will be posting some new cards soon and will hopefully get back on track. All the excitement of his return has had me running around in circles. If you would like I may even post some home coming pictures...let me know what you think!!

Direct to Paper II

I made this floral card by stamping direct to paper using black ink and then I colored the flowers in.

I used water colored pencils and a water pen to shade them in. I love this card blank...
The picture is not that great...I am not sure why because it almost comes out shiny...sorry.

Direct to Paper

I made this card for a friend of mine.

I used a rose stamp that I have had for some time (it's actually one of the very first stamps I ever purchased).

I stamped the rose using VersaMark. I then heat embossed it in gold. After that, I colored in the rose and leaves with Souffle Markers (I love those things).

The picture may come out a bit shiny, if so I am sorry.

Window Card

I made this window card for someone special and wanted to share it.

I had a lot of fun making it and I especially like the gold seal on the center. I am sure everyone knows how to make a wax seal but the secret to mine is that it is not wax.

I actually used gold hot glue in my glue gun and made the impression using an acrylic stamp. I got the black to come through by stamping the glue onto a piece of black paper and then let it set until the glue dried.

Flowery Feminine Card

This was another quick card I made that could be used for just about any feminine occasion.

Simple but sweet.

It could be finished either vertically or horizontally.

The flower background is stamped and then I stamped, colored and adhered the larger flowers with pop dots to give it some dimension.

21st Anniversary Card

This is another anniversary card I made.

I started off by dry embossing the red velum paper background first and then attached it.

The heart frame I stamped and then heat embossed with black detail EP. I used my Cricut to cut the "21" and the "ribbon" along the border is a ribbon stamp from a set I have.

MOM cards

I had recently purchased the "fold and stack flowers" template for HOTP and just had to play around with it. If you have not used it you should try it. I made this Mom's day card with the flower I made with the template and my Cricut.

Now- just to clarify my own parents are decreased but I still enjoy making mothers day and fathers day cards.

After I made the 1st one people wanted me to make them one...so I did. Honestly- I did not have to put a lot of time or effort into them but I had fun doing them and someones mom can enjoy them so it was definitely all worth it.

I know it's a wee early but here's to all us mom's.

Speaking of mom's...my son will hopefully be returning home from Afghanistan in Mid May...well... he will return to North Carolina in mid May and be out here in Indy in Early June...just in time for my birthday. YEAH!! Thank goodness because he had another near miss with an IED about a week ago and I don't think I can take much more.

Grad Card

A friend of mine had asked if I would make her niece a graduation card so I said OK.

Her school colors are Royal Blue and Kelly green. I really struggled with this card and probably tried 10 different ideas until I came up with the final result.

I used a combination of stamping and my Cricut. I hand made the tassel myself in her school colors and attached it to the card.

The left picture is the front of the card and the right is the inside.
